Altreonic NV is a spin-off company focusing on safety and systems engineering, based on a unique yet straightforward approach. With headquarters in Leuven, Belgium,  Altreonic has a strong technology focus with a history in embedded and parallel real-time systems that goes back to 1989 whereby real-world experience in very divers domains was used to develop a formalised methodology, supported by integrating tools.

As such, Altreonic's activities cover: executing international R&D projects, developing tools and environments, embedded real-time software, custom engineering projects in which hardware as well as software are developed and providing consultancy in safety and systems engineering. A key project is an internally developed modular e-vehicle.

1. Business Development Manager
 
Your Responsibilities: 
  • The initial assignment consists of a coached market survey in the private and the public domain.
  • You will seek customer specific challenges within Altreonic's domain of expertise, pre-evaluate them and you are the interface between the customer and Altreonic's team.
  • You are capable of meeting your business targets.
  • You work in an ethical and communicating manner that aims at detecting and correcting issues at an early stage while keeping in mind the longer term. 
Your Profile: 
  • Customer and business focused. 
  • Academic level (minimum is MSc or equivalent by experience)
  • Solutions thinker striving for a win-win situation
  • Team player who can function in a multicultural environment.

2. Internet developers
 
Your Responsibilities:
  • Developing a practical system architecture for client-server applications for internet applications using web and mobile devices technologies.
  • Contribute to the development of GoedelWorks
  • Contribute to the development of the remote management applications for the KURT e-vehicle.
Your Profile:
  • Academic level (minimum is MSc or equivalent by experience).
  • System thinker with sound electronic, communications or computer science engineering background.
  • Experience with developing internet based client-server applications (JS, MongoDB, ...).
  • Experience with developing applications for mobile devices
  • Creative and lateral thinker, interested in innovation as well as in practical results.
  • Team player who can function in a multicultural environment.
  • Good social and communication skills.
  • Self propelled, with a proactive attitude and own initiative.
  • Fast learner of novel concepts and techniques.
  • Customer and business focused.
Your preferred skills:
  • Proficient in written as well as spoken technical English.
  • Experience with concurrent and protocol based programming.
  • Programming in higher level languages such as Ada, Haskell, Phyton.
  • Some experience with embedded real-time programming.
3. Mechatronics engineer
 
Your Responsibilities:
  • Design of cost effective, light weight and robust mechanical subsystems for an innovative electrical vehicle concept
  • Formulating of mechanical subsystem specifications with accompanying verification and validation plans
  • Conducting multi-body simulations of the vehicle dynamics
  • 3-D visualisation of concept designs
  • Constructing of detail mechanical design models (CAD) of subsystems and components
  • Strength analysis (FAE), thermal analysis and material selection
  • Identifying and specifying innovative production processes and assembly techniques
  • Managing suppliers to deliver subsystems and components on time and according to specification
  • Contribute in the planning and executing of subsystem integration, vehicle integration and final system verification and validation activities
Your Profile:
  • MSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated capability in using 2D/3D modelling packages such as SolidWorks and/or PTC Creo
  • Strong technical background in mechanical engineering principles including heat transfer, strengths of materials, statics and dynamics 
  • Experience in mechanical designs and virtual prototyping through the use of simulation software 
Your preferred skills:
  • Experience with modelling with Modelica
  • Experience in rapid prototyping techniques (3-D printing, casting, machining and sheet metal
  • Experience in following a rigorous systems development processes
  • Experience in a variety of production environments involving aluminum die castings, injection molding, extrusions and sheet metal 
  • Knowledge of the application of formal methods to hybrid systems
  • Excellent command of English in both verbal and written communication
4. Embedded Electronics Engineer
 
Your Responsibilities
  • Design electronics for data acquisition, motor control, multi-processor communication, PC interface, and real time computation and control. 
  • Formulating of electronic subsystem specifications with accompanying verification and validation plans
  • Formulating software specifications with accompanying verification and validation plans
  • Software architecture design
  • Software implementation
  • Software and hardware integration
  • Coordinate the release of new electronic designs with manufacturing.
  • Document all design activities (generate design specifications, theory of operations, circuit design files, schematics, PCB layouts, test specifications, test reports, etc.)
  • Managing suppliers to deliver subsystems and components on time and according to specification
  • Contribute in the planning and executing of subsystem integration, vehicle integration and final system verification and validation activities
Your Profile: 
  • MSc in Electronic Engineering or equavalent experience
  • High speed digital design
  • Embedded Microcontroller/Microprocessor design and programming (ARM, Freescale, etc.)
  • High-speed memory interface (DDR, RDRAM, etc.) design
  • Analog-to-Digital and Digital-to-Analog converters (board level)
  • Board Level Peripheral Communications (I2C, SPI)
  • Hardware design of Ethernet, 802.11x Wireless, Bluetooth, PCIe, and USB interfaces
  • Hardware design experience with FPGAs (Xilinx, Altera, or Lattice)
  • Spice circuit simulation
  • Multi-processor communication and networking
  • Use of electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, function generators, logic analyzer, etc.)
  • Knowledge of PCB layout criteria for high speed interfaces and power regulation
  • Familiar with calculating tolerance stack ups and design margins
  • Design for CE certification, EMI and Environmental performance
  • Experience in programming real-time concurrent systems
  • Knowledge of communication prototcols (UART, CAN, TCP/IP etc)
  • Knowledge of the design and implementation of embedded discretized control systems
Your preferred skills: 
  • Programming in Python (PyQT)
  • Development of basic GUIs
  • Experience with power electronics and motor control principles (BLDC)
  • Experience in following a rigorous systems development processes
  • Knowledge of the application of formal methods to hybrid systems
  • Excellent command of English in both verbal and written communication
5. Embedded software engineer
 
Your Responsibilities
  • Research and develop advanced techniques for hard real-time and distributed embedded programming
  • Maintain and extend OpenComRTOS Designer and VirtuosoNext
  • Porting to new hardware
  • Developing board level drivers.
Your profile:
  • Academic level (minimum is MSc or equivalent by experience).
  • Solid experience in programming in C/C++ and assembly
  • System thinker with sound electronic, communications or computer science engineering background.
  • Experience in solving embedded systems challenges (e.g. thesis work).
  • Creative and lateral thinker, interested in innovation as well as in practical results.
  • Team player who can function in a multicultural environment. 
  • Good social and communication skills.
  • Self propelled, with a proactive attitude and own initiative. 
  • Customer and business focused. 
Your preferred skills:
  • Proficient in written as well as spoken technical English.
  • Some experience with programming in HLL (Ada, SPARK, Phyton, ...).
  • Some experience with internet programming.
  • Developing hardware at schematic block level.
