Altreonic has started to create a workshop under the title "Accessible trustworthy systems engineering with OpenComRTOS Designer and GoedelWorks."
The workshop aims to show how Embedded Systems and Software Engineering can be made easy, yet trustworthy. Through the adoption of a formal development process and a qualifiable toolsuite, one can go from requirements to implementation in a systematic and traceable way.

• Systems and safety engineering: an accessible methodology. Hands-on access to our GoedelWork™ portal will be provided. GoedelWorks™ is based on a unifying methodology and model that allows the user to maintain traceability from early requirements to the smallest implementation item. Intuitive to use, it guides the engineering team in generating the supporting evidence for qualification and certification while developing their product.
• Embedded Real-Time programming, in particular for distributed real-time systems. Participants are provided with a free Win32 version as well as course material. This is based on Altreonic's OpenComRTOS Designer™ Formally developed, it can be considered as a next generation real-time programming environment, supporting heterogeneous systems with just 10 KB/node. Yet, it is successfully replacing full blown POSIX style RTOS that require 50 times more memory.
• Closing the circle: how can informal requirement statements be reconciled with formal development techniques? In the closing session, we will provide several examples that demonstrate that formalisation and modelling is the key and contrary to many misconceptions, it is accessible while providing many benefits in terms of cost and trustworthiness for the team applying its principles and tools.
Altreonic has been researching a “Correct by Construction” approach for systems and safety engineering for 10 years. The result is a very accessible methodology that unifies most aspects of the engineering process while supported by tools that enhance productivity.
Speakers:
Eric Verhulst, CEO/CTO has more than 30 years experience in developing methodologies and tools for embedded systems engineering often with applications in the aerospace-defense sector. He is actively involved in safety engineering projects.
Antonio Ramos, senior software engineer is one of the core developers of OpenComRTOS and actively involved with developing and maintaining the qualification package.
The workshops are free but will be strictly limited to 25 attendees. Participants receive a free USB stick with documentation and a free to use Win32 version of OpenComRTOS Designer 1.4.
